Ferrari...
We once saw a guy driving a Ferrari in the center of Rome get out of his car (leaving it in the middle of the road with the engine still running) and walk calmly over to a newspaper stand (with his driving gloves on) and buy a newspaper. No one honked or yelled out. They just went around the car. I couldn't believe it. (It's not like a thief could jump in and take off... there was traffic everywhere.) It was just interesting... Italian life is so different and beautiful. In America, people would have honked, yelled, expressed themselves with hand gestures, etc. On another occasion, we were passed on the autostrada (toll road) by a Ferrari like we were standing still. The only thing was that I was driving 170kph at the time (approx. 105mph).We visited the Ferrari factory near Modena, Italy. (Modena is also the region where balsamic vinegar is produced.) We saw examples of all the Ferrari cars and engines dating back to the very beginning. There was also this wall that had pictures of Enzo Ferrari (the founder). I didn't know that he was a race driver/designer for Alfa Romeo before starting Ferrari. Ferrari red is a patented color in Italy.
